Lots of things went wrong with yesterday's attempt at static generation, but sometimes a fresh pair of eyes, can point you in a better direction. Both a co-worker and a co-organizer of our local JavaScript user group, suggested this package. I had been fiddling with react-static and that was probably the wrong direction for me to go. Medium Blog Spam is sometimes helpful. Following that article I was able to generate the static version of the site with low friction.

Thanks to the package gh-pages.

So what site was it?

Central Arkansas JavaScript

I didn't build this version, I had built the placeholder version which we used for about half a year. It served its purpose, but this version should be low-maintenance. It hooks into Meetup, Facebook, Discuss and Firebase for pulling data so we shouldn't need to update our events directly on the page.
